Allow me to respond with a summation of my management philosophy. Our company must be adaptable and quick to respond in these times of such accelerated technological innovation. As businesses are become increasingly interconnected, the world market requires that any company be ready for changes brought about by new developments in science and industry. Further, creativity plays a pivotal role in the genesis of new ideas. Our work environment must encourage and combine these attributes, adaptability and creativity. The increased significance of efficient communication parallels these changes in our global economy. Effective communication, both inter- and intra- corporate, is absolutely necessary for survival in todays rapidly changing world. Both the intentions of the speaker and the perceptions of the listener must be taken into account when analyzing any personal interactions. Leadership roles are evolving: management style for the 21st century calls for a greater awareness of diversity. It is the utilization of this broad spectrum of viewpoints which acts as a catalyst for new ideas and prevents stagnation. As companies grow, upper management must increasingly rely on middle managers to resolve problems and make decisions in addition to using their feedback to improve upon and revise procedure. Todays leader must be adaptable. He or she must be capable of viewing a situation from multiple perspectives simultaneously and using this information to make an informed decision. Todays leader must have a clear vision of the future and be prepared to make this future happen. A clear and defined course of action must work to move the company in this direction. Along with this vision and drive to succeed must come an openness to new ideas and a close relationship with employees. When the employee does not feel a personal connection with the organization, the motivation to improve is absent and productivity suffers. As Chief Operating Officer, I will move to incorporate all of this knowledge into our organization, searching for new areas in which we can improve ourselves and working to increase interaction. My values will emphasize adaptability and encourage creativity, with seminars set to facilitate intracorporate communication. This companys direction and visions for the future will be reviewed in an open forum where input is encouraged and our priorities are clarified. This forum will further incorporate these values into our culture, while examining the strengths and weaknesses of our organization in the past and defining what symbols have previously represented our company, an important part of defining our priorities and self-identity. These steps will clarify, both to the individual employee and the company as a whole, what direction we want this company to take in the future. I believe as Chief Operating Officer I can impart these changes and ready this company for the challenges the future presents to us. With both readiness for change and focused values, we can work together to actualize this companys highest potential.
